Snowshoe hiking in the Zillertal
The best snowshoe hikes in Mayrhofen and the surrounding area
Would you like to say goodbye to the hustle and bustle on the slopes and trudge through the snowy Zillertal winter landscape in peace and quiet? The local Action Club guides will take you to the most beautiful and quietest places in the valley so that you can really enjoy nature in its winter atmosphere.
Snowshoeing is an ideal alternative to skiing or cross-country skiing and does not require any special previous knowledge.
It is perfect as a BAD WEATHER PROGRAM, when the visibility conditions are diffuse when skiing, or when your legs are already tired towards the end of the week...
Snowshoe hiking is ideal for people who like to hike in summer, enjoy the winter landscape and snow-covered mountains and want to combine relaxation with physical activity. Away from civilization, so to speak, immerse yourself in nature without lifts, restaurants or crowds.
Suitable for individuals, groups and families with children aged 12 and over.
OUR SNOWSHOE TOURS
We start at 9 a.m. at the office in Mayrhofen. Everyone gets their equipment there, then the Actionclub bus takes them to the respective tour. There are various tours to choose from, the guide decides which tour to tackle based on the weather, snow conditions and group. At around 14 p.m. we are back in Mayrhofen
Together we hike towards an unattended hut, through forest and snow-covered meadows. At the top of the hut, we take a half-hour break, the guide strengthens you with a small snack in the form of a sandwich, fruit, chocolate, tea and schnapps. Then it goes on again, back towards the valley. At around 14.00 p.m. we are back in Mayrhofen.
At the end of the tour there are some nice photos as a souvenir. What to bring: Winter clothing, good shoes. Possibly backpack.
Tours run regularly during the weekdays from Christmas to mid-March.
