Via Ferrata / Klettersteig Gerlosstein

Via Ferrata Gerlosstein - Zillertal

A dream of a Via Ferrata!
Gerlossteinwand offers a quite alpine ascent, you will be quite exposed in this almost 300 m high rock wall. On top you will be sitting under the summit cross your eyes wandering over the Zillertal valley underneath you. A great scenery.

First we need to get to Gerlosstein gondola top station, from there we hike ca. 40 min up to the entry point. We climb through the whole Gerlossteinwand, which is not too hard but quite a long way. Being exposed all the time in this big rock wall, you should not have any trouble with hights.

The summit plateau is beautiful, after a short  rest and enjoying a stunning view, we walk back down on a hiking trail. Only for strong and fit guests!

We really recommend you to do your first Via Ferratas with one of our experienced mountain guides, it will be much more fun and much safer. You get instructed properly, learn about dangers and you receive some tips and tricks for your vertical way up the mountain.

All tours done by a official mountain guide.

If you want to do a Via Ferrata, bring solid shoes (trekking shoes) with good sole and some general fitness. People having big trouble with vertigo, we reccomend to select another activity out of our program.

If you have some Via Ferrata experience, you can hire equipment directly at the Actionclub office as well!
